2011-2013 Strategic Plan

In the MPI fiscal year, 2010-2011, the year that Don Diorio was Chapter President, Don encouraged a group of dedicated members to gather to begin writing a three-year vision for our association that would take us to new experiences for our members, our volunteers and the meeting professional community in New York.  

The plan below reflects the comittment our association leaders have made to our members to stay focused, clear and vigilant to meeting and exceeding the needs of our members.

Thanks goes to the Strategic Plan Task Force that created this roadmap to our future success.


VISION

To create a supportive community for meeting professionals to achieve excellence for themselves and their organizations.

MISSION

To provide education, networking and resources for meeting professionals in the Greater New York area.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

Financial Stability:

  • Establish accurate forecasting and budgeting procedures to insure that we remain fiscally solvent.
  • Research and recommend investment opportunities to maximize our assets.
  • Commit to regular monitoring and evaluation of our financial position.

Education:

  • Produce unique educational experiences that enhance effectiveness for meeting professionals.
  • Improve the quality of education and ensure the value proposition meets the needs of our members.

Member Value:

  • Provide members with tools that enable them to enhance their value within their organizations and as industry professionals.
  • Create an environment through which members feel they are part of a community as well as have a voice in shaping that community.

Volunteer Experience:

  • Consistently ensure opportunities are available which allow volunteers to contribute and believe they are making a difference.
  • Dedicating the necessary resources toward proper training, development, recognition and transition of our volunteer leaders.
  • Develop pathways for which volunteers and their organizations benefit from their involvement and are able to give back to the industry.

Marketing & Communications:

  • Elevate the perception of MPIGNY as thought leaders within the meetings & events industry.
  • Establish an integrated & professional strategy with measureable objectives that generate interest, awareness and response from and within our target market.
